What they forget to tell you

It has been a little over four months in my new job as Mommy, CEO of Carly.  I love my job and no matter how hard it may seem at times, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

There are a few things people neglected to tell me about what happens when you become a mom, I would however do it all again in a second for Carly.
There are many things I've learned over the past four and a half months:

  • Do know you may go bald.  There is nothing you can do about this.  You can purchase a wig or wear many hats.  You can attempt use shampoo with nioxin and make sure you take a multi-vitamin.
  • You will want to purchase some As Seen on TV- Tag Away.
  • Veins- You will have many more in all kinds of places.
  • You will not lose weight like the movie stars do within three weeks unless you can work out all day long while someone else watches your baby.
  • Things rotate and we are not talking about your tires.
  • Your face may start to go through puberty again.
  • The saying...."Nap when baby naps"....What if baby doesn't nap? Hello bags under thy eyes.
  • Sometimes breastfed babies don't like bottles.
  • Buy lots of Spray and Wash.  Keep it in the nursery.
  • There is no getting by Blow Outs.
  • People are going to give you advice.  It will sometimes annoy you.  Bite your tongue.  Most mean well.  Only you know your child best.  Do what you think is right.
I love my job and the new life Carly has given me.  She has changed me in so many ways.  Life is not about me.  It is all about her-now and forever and always will be.

Was there anything I missed? Do share what they didn't tell you.
